KB10054: Five-Hour Session Timeout

Summary: When I am connected for five hours, I am disconnected from the internet.

PROBLEM

I am disconnected when I've been online for 5 hours.

CAUSE

By design.

All of our users have a maximum session time of five (5) hours, after which time, they are disconnected.

This is to prevent people from accidentally leaving their computer online for days on end, even if they aren't using it. This keeps our lines open for people who are actively using their dialup connection.

Resolution</3>

When you are disconnected after five hours, if you are still using the internet, simply reconnect.

If you need to download large files that take more than 5 hours, you can use a download manager with a "Resume" feature, to start the download where it was interrupted.

A download manager is third-party software (not offered by LanZing.Net).
