Setting up MultiLink on Windows XP
1. Install two modems on your computer. Both modems should
support the same capabilities and protocols. You may have
trouble if you use two identical modems (some users report
this as a problem). Windows may become confused thinking that
one modem is sharing two COM ports, and report conflicts that
do not really exist.
2. Open up Control Panel --> Network Connections
3. Create a new Dial up connection. When you’re prompted to
choose your modems, select both.

4. Complete your connection settings, giving it a name and
selecting the proper dial-up phone number, username and
password for your account.
5. Once the connection is finished, right click on the
connection in the Network Settings folder and select
Properties.
6. Make sure both modems are checked. Also, check the box that
says all devices call the same numbers.

7. Click the Networking tab and select the
Settings button.
8. Make sure that Enable LCP Extensions is
not checked.
9. Make sure Negotiate multi-link for single link
connections is checked.

10. You can now dial your new MultiLink PPP connection. You
will see the following dialog as your server attempts to
bundle lines:

Congratulations! Enjoy your new faster connection! |
