What is LanZing Accelerated Dialup?

What gets Accelerated?

Zing Accel compresses the following elements of web pages in order to send the information to your computer faster:

Web pages - HTML markup and JavaScript
Graphics including JPEG and GIF images
Text
E-mail on the Web

What will not be Accelerated?

Although Zing Accel is able to compress many different types of online data, there are a few which cannot be accelerated:

Streaming media, audio and video files
Secure pages, such as those used for online banking and credit card forms
Files and attachments such as music or digital photos.

How does it work?

With traditional dialup methods, the text and graphics that make up Web pages get sent from the server to you over your phone line. Because of the large amount of data required to be sent, this process can be painfully slow. Zing Accel compresses this data using a proprietary technology, and sends it over your existing dialup phone line. This compression process allows a smaller amount data to be sent – up to 7 times less – making the download time of your web pages and your online experience that much faster. As an added download time reducer, Zing Accel stores elements of the Web sites you visit frequently so you do not have to re-download them every time you visit these sites.

version 5.0 for Windows

LanZing.Net launched version 5.0 of its Windows acceleration software. Version 5.0 has many advantages over Version 4.0 such as:

In our tests, Zing Accel Version 5.0 showed a 20% speed improvement over version 4.0. Overall this version gives a faster performance, improves ease of use, has expanded compatibility, is even more reliable, improves support and should make the high speed experience more enjoyable then previous versions.

Zing Accel 5.0 is available for all new customers. Existing customers will have the update available later this week. If an existing customer wishes to upgrade immediately, they can do so by going to the members page, clicking on my account, then going to "LanZing.Net High Speed Software" and following the prompts as if they were reinstalling the software.
