Most of our accounts are not for dedicated
users.
Dedicated
Dialup We consider a user dedicated when they are using an
average of 15 hours or more per day in a month. This
violates our Terms of Service
(TOS), and will cause the user's account to be blocked.
There is a $75 account restoration charge to
re-establish these users.
We do sell dedicated accounts. These will have one of
the following realms:
- @dedicated.net
- @dual.dedicated.net
Generally, these will cost $75 a month per channel
(so a dual account will cost $150).
A static IP can be
assigned to either account, but must be requested via
email after creating the account and will cost an
additional charge.
There may be some custom realms
which allow dedicated usage, as this setting is variable
per realm. In such cases, the ISP will probably be
paying per hour or per port, instead of per user
account.
TOS Violations
The first month a user violates our dedicated terms
of service, the ISP will be warned of via email (we do
not send warnings directly to the user). This email will
be sent to the contact addresses on their account.
The second month a user is warned, their account is
Banned, along with the
user's call-from number.
This is because this account has cost us at least $75.
The account can only be unbanned if the ISP pays a $75
dedicated usage fee.
Banned
A user can be banned for violation our
Terms of Service. Usually
it is for one of the following reasons:
- The user sent spam
- The user violated our
dedicated usage policy
- The user sent viruses
or other malware, was
warned, and did not clean their computer
- The user was involved in an attempted security
breach (otherwise known as 'hacking').
In most cases, both the dialup username and the
call-from number is
blocked, to prevent the user from signup up under a
different name.
A ban can be released depending on which policy was
violated. However this is usually accompanied by fees
and conditions.
