 Our Network

LANZING - Network usually refers to our upstream dialup providers. These are companies that provide us with national network connectivity and dialup equipment in locations across the US and Canada.

NETWORKS:

These are not to be confused with realms, which are username designations. Tier1 is a grouping of networks.

LANZING INTERNET maintains two networks for redundancy. One of our network facilities is located in Frederick, MD and the other in Seattle, WA. Both networks consist of multiple servers for every service that we offer such as email, radius, hosting, and DNS. Both facilities also consist of multiple DS3 providers for network connectivity redundancy. We also maintain multiple routers, Foundry ServerIrons, Cisco gigabit switches, power supplies, Ethernet switches, MySQL database servers, and Network Appliance storage devices. Our network is built on redundancy so that we can maintain the highest uptime percentage possible even if disaster strikes.

Seattle, Washington - Westin Building

The Seattle network connects to multiple backbone providers including bandwidth through the many of our dialup vendors including Level 3, Qwest, MCI, ELI. through two redundant routers, which then feed into our core switches. The redundant core switches connect through distribution switches, and out to the mail, web, Zing Accel (high speed), and radius servers, as well as other devices.

There are multiple servers spread over both sites for each service. In case one server fails or requires maintenance, we can simply take it out of the loop and repair it without impacting customers. The multiple layers of redundancy in the LanZing network provide a level of stability and reliability unmatched in the industry.

Frederick, Maryland - Xecu Facility

The Frederick network connects to our upstream provider through a Cisco router, which feeds into the load balancer and our distribution switch. These then feed out to multiple redundant mail, web, and radius servers, as well as other devices. Bandwidth is supplied through Qwest and Genuity for redundancy.

There are multiple servers spread over both sites for each service. In case one server fails or requires maintenance, we can simply take it out of the loop and repair it without impacting customers. The multiple layers of redundancy in the LanZing network provide a level of stability and reliability unmatched in the industry.
