Dialup Internet Access is a form of Internet access via telephone lines. The user's computer or router uses an attached modem connected to a telephone line to dial into an Internet service provider's (ISP) node to establish a modem-to-modem link, which is then used to route Internet Protocol packets between the user's equipment and hosts on the Internet.

V.90: a modem connection, allowing 56kbit/s download and 33.6kbit/s upload rates. (minimum capabilities)

V.92: a modem connection, allowing 56kbit/s download and 48kbit/s upload rates. (universal in most areas)

56k Analog Dialup: for Standard Modems capable of speeds up to 56kbit/s when connecting to a service that has a connection to the phone network.

MultiLink

112k Dual Analog: (MultiLink) for 2 Standard Modems capable of speeds up to 56kbit/s each (combined 112kbit/s) when connecting to a service that has a dual connection to the phone network. (2 local phone lines required)

 

 

ISDN Integrated Services Digital Network or Isolated Subscriber Digital Network (ISDN), is a telephone system network. Prior to the ISDN, the phone system was viewed as a way to transport voice, with some special services available for data. The key feature of the ISDN is that it integrates speech and data on the same lines, adding features that were not available in the classic telephone system.

ISDN: Digital Dialup - A modem connection, allowing 64kbit/s or 128kbit/s rates when configured 2-way.

128k Dual Digital: for ISDN Modems capable of speeds up to 64kbit/s each (2-way configured 128kbit/s) when connecting to a service that has a digital connection to the phone network. (available to most locations)

 

 

DSL Digital Subscriber Line or Digital Subscriber Loop (DSL), is a family of technologies that provides digital data transmission over the wires of a local telephone network. DSL uses high frequency, while regular telephone uses low frequency on the same telephone line.

DSL: Digital - a network connection ranging from 256kbit/s to 24,000kbit/s (available in select areas)

256k+ Digital: for Ethernet Cards capable of speeds ranging from 256kbit/s to 24,000kbit/s when connecting to a service that has a digital connection to the phone network. (No Phone service required in select areas)
